Book Description (from Amazon.ca)

The Golden Years Glitch follows 70-year-old firecracker Andi Parker, a successful businesswoman, devoted mother and so-fun grandmother. She is also looking forward to her golden years with her sexy silver fox husband, Jed.

Until…

My Thoughts

Andi is 70 years’ old and wanting to retire. She has groomed her boys to take over the business but still hasn’t let go completely. She is involved with Sweet Repeats, a second-hand store, which fills her time as well. Her life is perfect or so she thought. It isn’t until she gets a barrage of texts when she realizes something is off. The perfect 25-year marriage might not be so perfect. Andi’s life is turned upside down when she is forced to come to terms with what she wants and what she is willing to accept.

This is Judy Smith’s debut novel and one that will not disappoint. As a fan of “The Golden Bachelor” having a rom-com novel to read of similar nature was entertaining. Everyone wants to hear about the shenanigans women get into and knowing that life doesn’t stop after 50. The empowerment that Andi has along with the trials and tribulations she overcomes was refreshing to read.

As I read, I found myself experiencing several emotions from laughter to being pissed off. Not too often I find myself engulfed in a novel, truly losing myself and feel I am standing on the sidelines watching the story unfold. This just shows how well the character development and storyline were written. Overall, this was an entertaining read and will appeal to readers who love a good rom-com.  This will be one author to follow.
