What I’m Reading, Thinking About, and Missing This Month

Hello Friends,

I thought I’d send a quick mid-month note.

Not a newsletter.

Just a little check-in from my reading chair.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about how books tend to find us when we need them most.

Not because they’re trending.

Not because they’re on a bestseller list.

But because something about them speaks to where we are in that particular moment.

I’ve also been thinking about writing.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’ve started working on Book 2.

The funny thing is that even when I’m not actively writing, I’m still writing in my head.

Ideas appear while reading.

Questions surface while journaling.

Entire scenes sometimes arrive when I’m doing something completely unrelated.

And honestly, I miss spending more time with that creative part of myself.

For now, I’m trusting that the story will still be there when I’m ready to return to it.

As for reading, I’ve been enjoying a mix of personal development, historical fiction, and some thoughtful nonfiction. It reminds me why I love books so much in the first place.

They allow us to learn, escape, reflect, and grow all at the same time.

Before I go, I’d love to know:

What book has surprised you this year?

The one you picked up with no expectations and ended up loving.

Hit reply and tell me.

I’d genuinely love to hear about it.

Happy Reading,

Kelly
