Welcome to September!
There’s something about this time of year that always feels like a reset. The routines come back, the air shifts, and for me, it’s when I start finding my way back to both reading and writing in a more intentional way.
This month feels a little different though.
I’m not just reading for the sake of keeping up or posting reviews. I’m reading because I want to slow down again. To pay attention. To notice what works in a story and what stays with me after I close the book.
And alongside that, I’m writing. Not perfectly but consistently every single day. I’m showing up to it in a way I haven’t in a long time.
So September is about both:
📖 Getting back into reading
✍️ Finding my way back to writing
What I’m Reading This Month
This month’s shelf is a mix of stories I’ve been wanting to get to and a few that feel right for the season.
- A cozy, slower-paced read for evenings
- A mystery to keep things interesting
- A book I’ve been putting off but keep thinking about
(And if I’m being honest probably one or two I’ll pick up on impulse.)
What I’m Working On
I’ve also started focusing more on my writing again.
Some of it comes from assignments I’m working through, and some of it is just me trying to get comfortable putting words on the page again.
It’s messy. It’s slower than I’d like but it feels important.
What You’ll See This Month
Here’s what’s coming in September:
- A couple of book reviews
- More behind-the-scenes thoughts on how I read and review
- Some writing life reflections (this is new for me)
- A few seasonal reading posts as we move into fall
This space is slowly becoming more than just reviews.
It’s becoming a place where reading and writing meet.
And I’m really glad you’re here for it.
