🍁 Editor’s Shelf – October

Welcome to October.

This is the time of year where everything starts to slow down just a little. The evenings get darker, the air feels cooler, and for me, it’s when reading becomes part of my routine again in a more intentional way.

I’m not rushing through books right now.

I’m choosing them more carefully. Taking my time. Letting stories unfold instead of trying to finish them quickly.

And at the same time, I’m continuing to find my way back to writing.

Not perfectly. Not every day. But consistently enough that it feels like something I’m returning to instead of something I’m chasing.

📚 What I’m Reading This Month

This month, I’m leaning into books that I have had on my TBR shelf and others that have been waiting for a review. Some of these stories are immersive, a little darker, or just perfect for a quiet evening.

A few that are on my radar right now:

Some of these I’ve been meaning to read for a while, and others keep coming up everywhere I look.

Either way, they feel like the kind of books you settle into this time of year.

✍️ What I’m Working On

I’m still focusing on getting back into writing.

Some of that comes from assignments I’m working through, and some of it is just me showing up and seeing what happens.

It’s not always easy.

But I’m learning that writing doesn’t need to be perfect to be worth doing.

It just needs to be done.

🍂 What You’ll See This Month

Here’s what’s coming in October:

  • A couple of book reviews
  • Cozy fall reading list
  • Behind-the-scenes thoughts on how I read and review
  • More reflections on writing and finding my rhythm again

This space is slowly becoming more than just reviews.

It’s becoming a place where reading and writing fit into real life—and that’s exactly what I want it to be.

Thanks for being here.
