The Comfort of a Good Book

November is here, and with it comes the perfect excuse to slow down, get comfortable, and spend a little more time with a good book.

There’s something special about this time of year. The evenings are longer, the temperatures are dropping, and curling up with a story sounds better and better.

This month, I’m celebrating the comfort of reading, the stories that stay with us, and the joy of discovering our next great read.

📝 From the Editor’s Shelf

This month, I’m thinking about what makes a book special.

Some stories draw us in because of their characters. Others transport us to a different time or place. And sometimes a book arrives at just the right moment and gives us exactly what we need.

As a reader, I love finding stories that make me want to keep turning the pages. As a writer, I also find myself looking at how authors create those experiences for us.

In this month’s Editor’s Shelf, I’m sharing a few thoughts about taking the time to reflect and remember those who fought for our freedom.

💬 Let’s Talk Books

I’d love to hear from you this month!

What’s a book you would recommend to someone who needs a really good read?

It could be a recent favourite, an old classic, or a book you’ve recommended so many times that you know its story by heart.

Head over to our Facebook page and share your recommendation. You might introduce another reader to their next favourite book!
