Hello Fellow Readers,
June always feels like a month of possibility.
The days are longer, the weather is warmer, and suddenly reading feels a little different. Books find their way onto patios, into beach bags, and onto lawn chairs. There seems to be more room to slow down and enjoy a story.
This month, I’ve been thinking about the connection between reading, reflection, and creativity.
The books we choose often arrive at exactly the right time, offering a new perspective, a needed reminder, or simply an escape into another world.
What I’m Reading
Currently on my reading stack:
๐ The 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma
This book has me thinking about habits, routines, and how small changes can create meaningful results over time.
๐ Montana Matrimonial News by Candace Simar
I’m reading this one for review and enjoying the opportunity to step into a different time and place through historical fiction.
๐ All the Way to the River by Elizabeth Gilbert
This is next on my list and I’m looking forward to diving into it.
A Book Worth Discussing
Recently, I finished No Bad Parts on Audible.
One of the things I appreciated most about it was the reminder that every part of ourselves has a story. Whether we’re readers, writers, parents, professionals, or dreamers, we all carry different experiences that shape who we are.
It left me reflecting on how books often help us understand ourselves as much as they help us understand others.
Writer’s Corner
One thing I’ve realized lately is how much I miss writing.
I journal every day, and those quiet moments with a notebook help me process ideas and experiences. But I’ve also been thinking about Book 2.
It’s started.
It’s waiting.
And while life has pulled my attention in different directions, the desire to return to it hasn’t gone away.
Sometimes creativity doesn’t disappear. It simply waits patiently until we’re ready to come back.
Canadian Discovery
This month, I encourage you to explore a Canadian author you haven’t read before.
Some of the best reading experiences come from discovering voices that aren’t always featured on bestseller lists but have powerful stories to tell.
I’ll be sharing several Canadian discoveries throughout the month on My Book Addiction and More.
Around the Literary World
Summer reading season is officially here.
Publishers are releasing some highly anticipated titles, readers are building their seasonal reading lists, and book lovers everywhere are looking for that perfect story to accompany longer days and warm evenings.
What are you reading this month?
I’d love to hear what’s currently on your nightstand, e-reader, or audiobook queue.
Until next time,
Kelly
